PCM’s investment team is led by Portfolio Manager Gregg J. Powers who joined the firm in 1988 and is the firm’s CEO and Chairman.

Gregg J. Powers, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Gregg J. Powers is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PCM.  Mr. Powers began his investment career as a healthcare analyst at Raymond James Financial.  Mr. Powers joined PCM’s investment research team in 1988.  During the early 1990s, Mr. Powers became co-portfolio manager, credited with the primary underwriting of PCM’s investments in technology, healthcare, and telecommunications.  Mr. Powers became President of PCM in 1999, CEO in 2008, and assumed the role of Chairman in 2009.  As portfolio manager, Mr. Powers oversees all aspects of the investment of client portfolios.

Mr. Powers has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida.

David A. Sissman

David A. Sissman joined PCM from Brightpoint Capital (the public equity subsidiary of H.I.G. Capital), where he was a founding principal of the firm’s value-oriented long/short equity fund in 2006. At Brightpoint Capital, Mr. Sissman focused primarily on healthcare, business services, and special situation investments. He also helped develop and direct the firm’s investment research process.

Mr. Sissman previously served as a principal within H.I.G. Capital's private equity group, where he identified, evaluated, and led acquisitions of private healthcare and business services companies. Earlier in his career Mr. Sissman worked at Bain & Company, a leading management consulting firm, where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to implement strategic plans and operational improvements.

Mr. Sissman holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Spanish from Rice University.

Michael J. Chapman, CFA

Michael J. Chapman joined PCM from AIM Investments, where he most recently served as a co-portfolio manager for the firm’s Mid-Cap Basic Value fund. A petroleum engineer by training, Mr. Chapman has experience covering a broad range of small/mid capitalization companies in diverse areas, including basic materials, telecom, natural resources, utilities, consumer staples, and industrials.

Mr. Chapman began his investment career in 1995 when he joined U.S. Global Investors as a natural resources analyst after working for Unocal as a petroleum engineer. After U.S. Global, Mr. Chapman worked as an equity analyst for Gulf Investment Management, a private wealth manager, and later for JPMorgan Fleming, a large institutional investment manager.

Mr. Chapman earned both his Master of Arts degree in Energy and Mineral Resources, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, from the University of Texas. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Erick A. E. Sönne

Erick Sönne joined PCM from Steinberg Asset Management in New York where he spent 6 years as a research analyst.  He focuses on a broad range of industries including energy, insurance, transportation, and agriculture.

Mr. Sönne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service, Cum Laude from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and is a Level III Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.
