Investment Team

Gregg J. Powers
Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Lead Portfolio Manager

Gregg J. Powers is Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Lead Portfolio Manager of PCM. Mr. Powers began his investment career as a health care analyst at Raymond James Financial. Mr. Powers joined PCM’s investment research team in 1988. During the early 1990s, Mr. Powers became co-portfolio manager, credited with the primary underwriting of PCM’s investments in technology, health care, and telecommunications. Mr. Powers became President of PCM in 1999, CEO in 2008, and assumed the role of Chairman in 2009. As Portfolio Manager, Mr. Powers oversees all aspects of the investment of client portfolios. Mr. Powers has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida.

David A. Sissman
Co-Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of Research

David A. Sissman is Co-Portfolio Manager of the PCM Concentrated Value Strategy portfolio and Managing Director of Research. Mr. Sissman joined PCM from H.I.G. Capital’s hedge fund unit, where he was a founding principal of the firm’s value-oriented long/short equity fund in 2006. At H.I.G. Capital, Mr. Sissman focused primarily on health care, business services, and special situation investments. He also helped develop and direct the firm’s investment research process. Mr. Sissman previously served as a principal within H.I.G. Capital’s private equity group, where he identified, evaluated, and led acquisitions of private health care and business services companies. Earlier in his career Mr. Sissman worked at Bain & Company, a leading management consulting firm, where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to implement strategic plans and operational improvements. Mr. Sissman holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Spanish from Rice University.

Andrew L. Martin
Co-Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst

Andrew Martin is Co-Portfolio Manager of the PCM Collier Fund and Senior Research Analyst. Mr. Martin joined PCM from H.I.G. Capital’s hedge fund unit, where he was a senior research analyst for the firm’s value-oriented long/short equity fund. At H.I.G. Capital, Mr. Martin focused primarily on industrials, business services and special situation investments. Mr. Martin previously was Director of Research at Polen Capital Management, where he helped develop and direct the firm’s research process. Prior to Polen Capital, Mr. Martin worked at Fine Capital Partners, a value focused long/short equity fund and at Sanford C. Bernstein, a leading institutional equity research firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Martin worked at Credit Suisse First Boston as an investment banker and at the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen, earning a CPA. Mr. Martin holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University.

Erick A. E. Sönne, CFA
Co-Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst

Erick Sönne is Senior Vice President of Research and senior analyst at PCM. Mr. Sönne joined PCM’s research team in 2010 from Steinberg Asset Management LLC, a New York-based value manager where he spent 6 years as a research analyst focusing on a broad range of industries including energy and financials. At PCM Mr. Sönne has focused on investments in community banks, business services, industrials, energy infrastructure and utilities, among others. Mr. Sönne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Services, Cum Laude from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Leadership

Chad D. Atkins
President and Chief Compliance Officer

Chad Atkins is President and Chief Compliance Officer at PCM.  Mr. Atkins joined PCM in 2004 as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.  Prior to joining PCM, Mr. Atkins was associated with the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, practicing in the firm’s investment management group.  He has also practiced as a litigation associate with the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.  He received both his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, where he served as Executive Articles Editor for the Southern California Law Review.  He holds an A.B. in History from Columbia College.

Jano P. Janoyan
CEO Carnes Capital Corporation and Managing Director of Trading and Operations

Mr. Janoyan is CEO of PCM’s affiliate broker/dealer, Carnes Capital Corporation.  Additionally, Mr. Janoyan is Managing Director of Trading and Operations at PCM. Prior to assuming trading duties Mr. Janoyan served as the firms IT director as well as a Senior Trader.  Mr. Janoyan attended the University of Florida.

David G. Joyce
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

David Joyce is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at PCM.  After joining the firm in 1995 as Controller, Mr. Joyce was promoted to CFO in 1996.  In addition to Mr. Joyce’ oversight of the finance and accounting functions for PCM, all departments at the firm report to Mr. Joyce with the exception of research and client relations.  Mr. Joyce is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Jeffrey M. Fortier
Managing Director of Client Services

Jeffrey M. Fortier is Managing Director of Client Services at PCM.  Previously, he worked for Wright Investors’ Service of Milford, Connecticut as Client Services Officer and Southern Regional Manager for the Trust Investment Services Group.  Mr. Fortier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Political Science from Sacred Heart University.

Max H. Deifik
Vice President of Client Services

Max H. Deifik is Vice President of Client Services at PCM.  Previously Max was Partner at Geissinger, Deifik and Associates, a financial advisory practice serving Southwest Florida clients.  During his tenure there, Max managed a client-centered practice serving high net worth individuals, non-taxable clients, and families with unique real estate and closely-held business situations.  Mr. Deifik earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Florida Gulf Coast University.
